Woodway joins the Association of Vehicle Installers

12-11-2025

We’re now a proud member of the Association of Vehicle Installers (AVI) – a brilliant step forward in recognising the skills and commitment of our Installation team.

Established in 1961, and converting emergency vehicles – namely police and blood bikes – for over 25 years, Woodway joining the AVI reflects our continued focus on quality, consistency, and professional development across the team. It’s an opportunity to validate our high standards and keep pushing ourselves to be even better.

Jason McComb, CEO of the AVI, commented: “It’s great to have another company from the blue light community join us. It was great to host four of Woodway’s engineers on our course in Bridgnorth in October – fantastic engagement and a clear commitment to safe, compliant, and standardised installations.”

A team that’s got the miles in

We’re proud of our installation team, who between them bring 60 years of experience from right here at Woodway. To put that into further context – 58 of those years come from the three legends on the right (Well, William is a legend too, just without the creaky joints).

That’s a serious amount of skill, knowledge, and passion for the job – and the AVI accreditation process gives us a framework to validate that excellence, recognise it formally, and keep raising the bar.

Our Installation Services

Our in-house team carry out a wide range of specialist vehicle installations. From police and blood bike conversions to CCTV vans, covert vehicles, and custom one-off builds, we combine practical installation expertise with engineering-led thinking to deliver professional, reliable results.

That same team also provides valuable real-world input into product development here at Woodway, helping us design smarter, more effective solutions that are grounded in how vehicles are actually used.

So while joining the AVI may seem like a formality, it matters to us – because it’s another step in recognising the work our team put in every single day, and making sure we stay accountable to the standards we believe in.

Andrew Fairchild, Associate Director at Woodway, added: “Joining AVI is another step in strengthening our commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and professional development across our installation teams. Thank you to the AVI team for the warm welcome, we’re looking forward to working together.”
