Location: Barnacle, Coventry
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 depending on experience.
This is a unique opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer.
The role is permanent, office based, working 40 hours a week, including free on-site parking. 33 days holiday entitlement, and a company pension scheme is in operation.
Main Duties:
We are looking for a dynamic individual, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience of working within an Engineering/design environment. You will be involved in all aspects of the design process, joining a multi-disciplinary team to innovate new and improve existing products for specialist vehicles for the global market. Liaising with sales team to provide internal / external technical support. Assist as required with the production of Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) / Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printing (filament) manufacturing. Produce 2D/3D drawings of products using AutoCAD, SolidWorks and use a handheld Artec scanner. Assist with component quality, checking components against drawings using relevant checking/measuring equipment, sometimes backed up with a First Article Inspection Report (FAIR Document).
Skills and Experience Required:
We are looking for a dynamic individual, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience of working within an engineering / design environment. You will need to have a passion for engineering, and the drive and determination to enhance our world class product. Previous experience of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other 2D/3D drawing packages. Has excellent oral and written communication, and numeracy skills. Good level of computer-based IT skills including use of MS Office, Outlook, Excel etc and the willingness to learn new systems and processes as required. Ability to prioritise and use own initiative to meet tight deadlines. Pro-active and able to work without close supervision and can also work within a team and liaise with other teams and individuals when required. A flexible team player, contributing and developing solutions to common problems. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Positive, outgoing, self-motivated, with a confident disposition. Always possess excellent customer focused manner, with a positive “can do” attitude to achieve their goals. Must be able to cope with the physical side of the role enough to engage with the 3D printing processes, 3D scanning and prototype assemblies. Must have a full driving licence and be able to commute daily, Monday – Friday.
