Ray Skelhon, Chairman at Woodway Engineering has announced that after 56 years in business he has decided to pursue his personal interests and take a well earnt retirement away from the day to day management at Woodway; Ray will still retain his role as company Chairman.
After completing his National Service in the RAF as an Aircraft fitter initially on Spitfire’s, Ray worked for 10 years before starting his own business some 56 years ago with a family loan buying a petrol & service station in Woodway Lane, Coventry - hence the company’s name. Since those days, the company has developed into a manufacturing business that supplies both UK and International customers. Everyone at Woodway would like to thank Ray for his hard work and dedication to guiding the business over the years and wish him all the very best for the future.
In addition to Ray’s retirement, Alan Skelhon Woodway’s current Managing Director, having completed 35 years with Woodway has announced that he will be moving into a Technical Support role. As a qualified Engineer, Alan wishes to dedicate more of his time to new product development. In view of the senior management changes, Woodway is pleased to announce that from the 1st August 2017, the appointment of Gary Hall as the new Managing Director at Woodway.
Gary comes to Woodway with a successful track record of leading a number of different businesses, which have included a lighting and control systems company where he was responsible for a team that manufactured and sold lighting equipment to customers all over the world. He is therefore familiar with Woodway’s range of equipment which will be a tremendous asset when delivering new customer focused solutions in the future. Gary will be supported by Ray and Alan in the short term and he will be keen to meet Woodway’s customers and suppliers in the coming months. We would like to wish Gary every success as he shapes the future of the company.
