Emergency Vehicle Equipment - Control Systems
Mounting control equipment within Emergency Service vehicles has never been as
difficult. With the gradual disappearance of the familiar fascia ‘DIN’ slot as manufacturers prefer to install ‘unique fit’ radio systems, Woodway has designed its latest control panel, the OPTI-LINK system to take advantage of the limited space available. Where 'DIN' apertures are available, the SVO switch panel may be used.
OPTI-LINK Control System

The OPTI-LINK system provides an enhanced control interface between the driver and the vehicle’s emergency equipment which overcomes the mounting limitations of existing ‘DIN’ sized panels. The large switches and flexible legend design allows customers to individually configure the control panel to their specific needs. OPTI-LINK retains many features of the ‘Single Wire Tactile’ control panel developed by Woodway in the early 1990’s, including the ability to select a group of switches by the activation of a single switch on the panel and the ‘hands free’ control of the vehicle siren system. System features include:

System Features:
- Tactile feel switches with confirmation 'beep' on selection.
- Integral PA Microphone and PTT switch for use with siren amplifiers with PA facility.
- Auto 'sleep' mode to reduce battery drain when vehicle is parked and no switches active.
- Auto 'wake up' with door opening or ignition on.
- Back light illumination with 'auto dim' which reduces the intensity of the 'switch active' illumination at night.
- 'Soft' switching prevents large current surges on the vehicles electrical system.
- Interchangeble legend plates to customer specification.
- Various mounting configurations. We recommend PROCLIP car phone mounting brackets.
- Simple to wire - DATA transmission between keypad and remote receiver via single copper wire.
- Two large programmable switches for '999' & 'ARRIVAL' modes.
- 'Walk Test' sequence makes active each of the 12 standard switches allowing operator to confirm equipment is operational.
