‘As a supplier to the Emergency Services our customers must have confidence in the equipment and services that we supply. To ensure this, it is the policy of Woodway Engineering Ltd. to deliver products and services of the highest quality. This policy shall be maintained through a Quality Management System that conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 which provides a process for the continuous improvement of the products and the services supplied.

All members of Woodway are charged with promoting this policy and shall be supported according to their individual needs for personal development, training and facilities’.

Woodway hold ISO9001:2000 accreditation which covers both design and manufacturing procedures within the company. As part of the Type Approval (e11 & E11 marking) process, we have gained 'Conformity Of Production' status from the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA).

Background:

With the quality, reliability and superior performance of our products, we have been providing an unequalled service to valued customers world-wide for over 25 years.

We work closely with the entire Emergency and Rescue Services, including the Police, Fire, Ambulance and specialist vehicle manufacturers, listening and responding to their needs. This way, we have been able to meet and surpass all their technical requirements, and continually drive forward with new and improved products.

Over the years, our reputation for providing high quality products with excellent service has grown, along with our customer base. Today, we supply more than 80% of the Major Incident High Profile Vehicles with various types of equipment. Within the UK and Northern Ireland, we supply equipment to 95% of the Police Forces, giving us access to more than 45 separate Police Authorities.

Facilities:

Based in a rural location in the heart of England, we employ some 50 people. The Factory complex houses production, warehousing, research and development and installation facilities.

Products:

We are the exclusive licensed manufacturer of WHELEN designed Automotive Audible & Visual Warning Systems for the United Kingdom & Europe. Whelen product not supplied through Woodway will not comply with the Automotive EMC Directive 95/54/EC and carry the 'e11' type approval marking.

We have developed a range of complimentary products including vertical and horizontally-stowed mast systems, switch panels, headlamp flashers and remote strobe heads.

'e11' Marking:

The Automotive EMC (ElectroMagnetic Compatibility) Directive 95/54/EC is primarily concerned with ensuring that the driver's control of a vehicle is not affected by ElectroMagnetic Interference from electrical/electronic equipment installed in vehicles, both original fit and aftermarket fit. This Directive has been enacted into the law in Great Britain (England, Wales & Scotland) through the Road Vehicles (Construction & Use) Regulations and in Northern Ireland through similar legislation. Whelen product not supplied through Woodway will not be approved to the Automotive EMC Directive 95/54/EC (Type Approved) and e11 marked.

'E11' (ECE65) Marking:

Product complying with Regulation 65 (ECE65) include variants of the 9M and EDGE Ultra Strobe Lightbar.
